How many of you overhead press 'correctly'?

I was checking up on proper OH press form and came across , which does a pretty good job of illustrating proper form (apparently).

I'm curious if anyone has issues while doing these, particularly with shoulder strain? In my particular case I can't extend the arms as far back when locked out because of a trick shoulder I have and I'm wondering if because I'm not performing the press exactly as intended I should stop doing it altogether and focus on other exercises.. any thoughts?

I just use a comfortable grip and put the weight over my head. I don't lock out all the way back there. I might try it, but I'm thinking it would be difficult to recover a missed lift. If you can hold the weight overhead comfortably, chances are you are OH pressing right. I've seen people OHP at ridiculous angles in front of them. That's awful leverage and there's no way in hell you can lock out from there.

An OH Press is an OH Press. As long as you using a suitable range of motion and have full control over the bar then i dont see a problem.

maybe not :p

Anyways, just get the bar over/behind your head as soon as the bar passes, if you keep it in front of your head with your head tilted back you will arch your back and make it heavier.

There is no such thing as a "clean jerk";)

hahaha, i don't know how i diddn't catch that
