really sore legs!

After my first leg workout for like 8 weeks my right leg is sooooooo sore just from doing those one legged squats where you put your other leg up on something. I did this with no weight on my right leg and did 4 sets till i could feel some burn but not to failure :p and today it farking hurts bad...when i go to sit and stand up even my ass is sore :( wasent expecting this kind of soreness at all because this is the kinda pain i got when i did proper hardcore leg workouts where i could hardly walk out of the gym without having to hold onto something. I haven't worked my legs for so long because i recovered from a operation on my right knee

of training my legs for 8 weeks...i also had my right leg in a cast thing and couldent move it for 2 weeks so all the muscle i built up in it has gone  i think this is a good pain tho no ??? ive had this almost every other time but i was using lots of weight and really pushing my self.

don't go in so fast especially after an injury. Check with your doctor like der said.

other than that, Bulg squats are hard as **** (at least they were for me when I first did them, and I still tihnk they're hard now).

ive got long legs so there not hard for me. and he sead no leg weight training for 4 weeks after my check up and its been 5  ....i am gonna start light tho just to get some basic strength into it as my leg seems to of thought that it was a intense workout from the soreness

its fine there is no pain other then the pain that ive caused from the weight training but thats normal ??? its bruise pain in my thighs....nothing to do with my knee

I pulled of my growth plate and fractured my tibia or some such thing? i don't really remember asking for specific help just saying that i was surprised at how sore my leg is.

Ahhh the joy of taking some time off then having a leg day.

I've gone 4-5 days of being sore after a leg day. If you go anymore than that I'd contact your Dr.

I can relate.

Quite a few years back I had a trainer who'd work with some NHL hockey players put me thru a so-called " easy leg workout " .......took me 6 days to recover.

On the the plus side ..I learned what " training hard " really means ! :)

I also recall when I first got into lifting, a trainer buddy put my friend and I through a crazy intense workout. My legs were noodles when I left the gym, and the next 2 days, it hurt to move. I literally only got out of bed a couple times the second day. It honestly took over a week to fully heal. I was completely untrained at the time, and that was a insane, intense workout. Fun memories...

Hehehe, when I used to do leg presses, months ago, I recall that. It's funny, squats are tough, no doubt, but they don't really destroy me the way some lifts do. Maybe it's cause I control how many sets/reps I do, instead of just going until I'm nearly dead...

You should lie on your bed after a workout and raise your legs over your head and rest them on the wall for about 30 minutes. That will allow the old blood to flow out of your legs and when you stand up you're replace it with fresh blood that isn't weighed down by lactic acid. it helps me from getting really sore after hard core leg and cardio exercise.

"Old blood"? It would have to have the viscosity of honey to take 30 minutes to "flow out" of the legs...in which case, you'd never have enough blood flow to live...

Where did you hear about this?

I just want to say that sometimes my leg workouts leave me so sore that if i didn't know better I thought I would've injured something. The more and more I workout my legs the faster I heal from my workouts though. Now it seems like it takes 3 days tops for the soreness to go away where before it used to take a week.

are you able to bear down with all your weight yet, calcium?

It hurts like a bitch rolling my back on it. I should probably look up some proper exercises for them though. I've only ever looked up exercises for the tennis balls. Know of any good ones for the foam rollers?

be creative with the roller. just roll along muscles that need it.

other than that, try to search for "foam roller" at t nation. I think cressey got some tips.
