just saying hi

Hi. I'm a 24 year old mother of 2. I lost a bunch of weight the right way, and am realizes I'm still not happy with the way I look. I'm very excited to build muscle. I've taken several pictures of my progress. I really hope to inspire other women, if I can indeed, blast these saddlebags to smitherines, but fear it may not be possible.

I am jogging now. Jogged for 45 minutes, wasn't tired, felt great. Then 2 days later.... I began to limp... whoops!! I hula hooped at first, it's just not getting my heart rate up.

Welcome, Kayla! Welcome to the best forum on the internet.

I responded to your other thread. I think creating a journal for your pics is a good idea.........LETS ROCK WITH IT, GIRL!

WELCOME!

Good luck to all that you set out to do!

Best wishes as always!

Kayla, lucky you - you are in a cycling mecca, Boulder! My brother lives in Denver and I am hoping my younger son applies to CU Boulder next year. I ship my bike there whenever I go there, usually once a year. Get on a bike, girlfriend and maybe I'll see you when I go cycling there sometime.

Aww, you guys are so sweet. :luxlove:

g8r80 - Yep... they're everywhere. It's funny! Everyone is so used to it, but when people visit they are very surprised.

I have a mountain bike... but no road bike. :( I biked in the mountains a few weeks ago, and I almost did myself in, which is not healthy. I under estimated biking! It worked me harder then anything else I've tried. I had to get home! uphill! I had to rest many times. Some people go 6 miles uphill.

Biking in the mountains is no place for a rookie... that will get you turned off. Start off on the flatter areas. One of my field sites is on Marshall Road and there is always a steady stream of bikers on that road. Seems like a safe road to travel.

Tyler Hamilton, gold medal winner in the bike time trial in 2004 Olympics, plus Connie Carpenter-Phinney (1984 women's olympic champ in bike racing) and her husband, Davis Phinney, a former champion pro racer, all live in Boulder and can be seen riding around I am told.

I'm new here too and I'm glad I'm not alone
