I am/was the procrastinator wanting to get in shape once and for all. My goal is to be fit, strong and healthy!
I am currently 44 yrs old, 5'3'' tall, weigh 136lbs with a BMI of 24 and a sedentary lifestyle due to long hours of work and study at a desk. I therefore want to get in my requisite workouts first thing in the morning on a regular and consistant basis and maintain my weight at 125lbs and BMI at about 20. I am not overly concerned about diet as I am not a big eater, I naturally limit my fat and calarie intake and I believe in moderation (I hate to feel bloated). I am in excellent general health always having results of low to normal for cholestrol and blood pressure.
My preferred method of exercise is walking, but I wouldn't be averse to running if I think I'd get more hooked and therefore not stop at the first obstacle. My gym at home is equipped with a universal weight set that you can do most exercises on, a treadmill and a few free weights. I use the treadmill more, and mostly do upper body work on the gym set. Sometimes I exercise for a few weeks and then I don't look back in there for weeks or months. I have also done outdoor walks with friends.
The fact that I am pretty healthy and do not look overweight, makes it easy for me not to make total fitness a priority, and for others to think my seeking it is just vanity.
Any ideas how to get over this hump
