Comments on Bill Starr 5x5 routine??

I am thinking of beginning this routine after vacation. Do any of you guys have any comments on the program?

Have you done it?
What were the results?
How did it change your body comp?
How can I work in pullups?
 
Its a great program, i did it a long time ago, but my diet was crap, but i had gains anyways. I moved from bodypart splits to 5x5, and for the first time in my life i actually saw some decent gains.

the pullups question is answered on the site i belive. Wendsday, as the last compound, you can do a coupple sets of pullups if you want. Are you talking about the linear intermid version?

I've been training for four years, mostly fullbody workouts, all free weights, compound lifts, with assorted Oly lifts.

And yes, I was considering the intermediate lifter version.

I guess I am a little skeptical on how few of lifts are performed. Whats your opinion on that?
 
dont worry about it, its a back to basic kind of routine. you only do one heavy set each exercise, which is kind of weird, but it does work, because you lift heavy. If you dont see good gains on the intermid one, try the advanced one. What does your lifts look like? It could be that you really are more ready for the advanced dual factor version if you have been lifting propperly for 4 years, but it doesnt hurt to try the intermid version first and see how it goes.
 
this program was sooooooo fun!
i got stronger, and a bit bigger.
not much change in size though.
