neither.
ensure is crap. soy protein (crap) and sugar (crap)

Ensure is a product intended for the ELDERLY who often develop poor nutrition habits due to inability to prepare meals, medical issues, or losing their appetite (my grandma is about 5'3" and weights 85lbs....)

Ensure is a way for them to get some calories, calcium and a few vitamins in their otherwise lacking diet.

I know you can spot reduce, but can you um.. spot increase?
I guess just doing more lower body weights than upper body?

yes, its the same thing with more crap protien. try a whey protien and mix it in the blender with some fruit.. if you cant get all of your protien intake with foods through out the day.

I know you can spot reduce,

uh, no you can't.

As for Ensure, Malkore's right, it's made for the elderly, like PediaSure for kids who don't/can't eat well.

For fitness purposes, get some whey protein (Optimum Nutrition is good), and there are all sorts of possibilities with it.

Yup, drop the ensure. It is nasty stuff. I mean, what is it SUPPOSED to be? Milk? in a can? with a shelf life of 2 years? yikes!!!

Get your protein as naturally as you can. Milk, chicken, eggs, etc. If you need a lot, look at a protein powder to mix in with milk or water or juice. Stay away from protein bars. Although they look and sound good, they are often about as good for you as a Hershey bar.

technically you can spot 'bulk' to increase muscle mass in areas that are lagging...though this is most commonly achieved by working your successful areas less, so you don't further maintain the imbalance.

sticking to free weights is a good way to avoid imbalances in size and strength in the first place.

lastly remember that genetics dictate whether you have wide hips, narrow hips, a badunkadunk, or a flat ass like me.
