What to Expect.

Hmmm, i got an idea.
How about you guys post about your experiences when you first started getting fit. Wether it was weight training, loosing a bit of fat, or just getting a healthy heart. Maybe this post could let people know what to expect when first starting out, that way they dont get scared or paranoid when it happens to them. Like for example, i used to get cramps when i first started lifting with my calfs, and i would barely curl 20Lbs w/ both arms, lol. that kind of stuff. Good luck and i hope this post helps some of you out there. and thanks for sharing.

My body started growing?

Okay, I'll give this thread a go.

When i started eating clean a lot of things happened to me. 1) I had way more energy. It was amazing. 2) my mood was lifted. 3) i felt... "clean." It's hard to describe but I tell you what, don't eat sugar for nine months and then eat a snickers bar... and you'll understand what I mean.

those are excellent outcomes and if eel the same way...especially the eatig clean part! you cant describe it to someone who hasnt been through it. :)

plus overall i think yoru confidence increases...in your interactions with people, your ability to do things and just overall appearance.

the biggest bonus is that im always pushing myself harder because i KNOW if i coudl do all that i can do so much more :)

That sounds really cool. I just started excercising 2 weeks ago and being a diebetic, im eating a lot cleaner trying to control my Blood sugar lvls and im really starting to feel good just in 2 weeks. Before 2 weeks ago i barely left the house, now im trying to be a more active individual im really motivated to become healthy and look good. You guys have helped so much and when i see a before and after pic i think "Wow, these people are so motivated, and it motivates me even more". Specially the advice you guys give me, has helped alot. i just thought of this thread as a way of sharing with the public and the fitness.com forums how i feel and how great this all is. I took some before shots and hope to upload them sometime along with after shots. ill also quote from here if i can.

Nice Thread Idea.

When I first started lifting weights I could only bench 100 1 time. I felt like such a weakling. I started lifting, eating right and you know what? I maxed 150 last Saturday. The fact that knowing my hard work paid off is such a good feeling. Really puts more confidence in you.

Three months ago I was benching 105 for 10 reps to start. Now I'm going to be doing 145 for 8 reps to start next workout. Even though I'm not considered huge or strong, I feel a WHOLE lot better about myself and my body, I have put on quite a bit of muscle. Makes it so much easier to workout now that I have seen the results and I've just been an all around more active person. I play basketball and I have noticed a big difference in my strength on the court and the ability to hold my position against guys that are bigger than me. I used to always be really skinny so anytime I ran into anyone I went flying, but now I've noticed a couple times where the other guy goes flying. :)

Had some knee popping after squats, elbow popping during bench pressing, slight shoulder popping during military press when I started lifting. None of this was accompanied with pain and it all went away after a couple weeks.

When I start cutting I hope to really see some great results as all this new muscle comes out.

for me i started lifting 16 months ago. The major thing in high school is the bench press. I could only do 75lb lift for 4 reps at 135lb. Now im at 145lb and can lift 200lb.

evil highschool.
Really, once this guy outbenched me by a mile, but when the time came for squats, and i was able to pop his max lift over my head (snatch), im telling you, all the girls were looking MY way :D

I felt more energetic.
I slept better.
I woke up on time without feeling groggy.
I had more energy all day long.
More mental focus.

Waking up w/o feeling groggy makes thigs so much easyer >.>
