Squat trouble

ive been squatting like 2-3 times a week for the past 2.5 months and im just stuck at 140lbs for sets of 5 .. i know i know .. its really week compared to any of my other lifts .. this is going below parallel pretty much ..

any tips .. like maybe sometimes i can push out 150 for 5 .. but its very tough .. this is by far the hardest exercise for me .. my cousin has pretty skinny legs .. and he doesnt lift at all .. just plays tennis at a world rank junior level .. now turning pro .. but anyways .. he does 250 no prob ..

basically any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated .. as i really wanna be able to squat at least over 200

Some people are born to squat. Just make sure your technique is good. Maybe you should start varying your rep schemes.

make sure you're really using all the muscles available to perform the lift. the glutes shouldn't just stabilize...they should be actively moving some weight.

try varying your stance.
try flat soled shoes like chuck taylor's (for deadlifts too!)

and don't forgot front squats too, once a week, to hit the quads harder.

This is great advice, and not something easily learned. Some people do this naturally, but some need to focus and work on it. You could easily increase your squat 50lbs if you work on this for a month or two.

Try lowering your reps to 2-3 and increasing the weight. Then go back to your previous routine after a week or so.
