7lbs-10lbs In 3 Weeks?

I heard somewhere that it was possile to gain 7-10 pounds in about 3 weeks. Is this true? What would i have to eat to gain some major weight? i really need weight gain badly so can you help me?

Protein, Protein, Protein.

I'd also recommend whey protein shakes, creatine, multivitamins along with weight training.

Gaining lean muscle and gaining weight are two different animals. Sure, anyone (nearly anyway) can gain 7-10 lbs in 3 weeks. Can you gain 7 lbs of straight muscle in 3 weeks? No.

i put on 6 pounds this past holiday weekend, but it is definitely not muscle! :)

Jacob, it's possible but some factors would be your diet, your training program, your training intensity, and your training experience. Can you give us details on theses items?

You want to know what to eat.......well what are you eating, and how much are you eating now???

On average, and if you have a good program backed up by good nutrition and intensity/frequency/consistency.....you could have 1-2 lbs. of muscle. This also includes water brought on during the hypertrophy process.

Sounds about right, the rest you put on will be body fat - you can control how much however by your diet and exercise, remember that you will probably want to cut after gaining a significant mass of fat, therefore reducing your body weight - the opposite that you want to do.

I gained 7.7 pounds in 2 and a half weeks. Probably because I just started out....Either that or I added a little fat. But my diet has been high protein (getting at least 230 grams at a bodyweight of now 170 Pounds)

That's a lot of weight for 2 and a half weeks. Thing is, the body can only build a certain amount of muscle at a given time naturally. 1-2 lbs a week is all that your body can build - the rest would be water and fat for the most part. When you are at a certain body fat percentage, 13% for example, you won't be able to tell it from 16% usually. But the difference between 10% body fat and 16% is very noticeable.
