my friend told me this?

ok well i was able to notice that i dont even do bench press when i work on my chest i do a few dumbell excersies...i used to only do about 100 pushups wit sets of 20 and that got the little extra fat on my pecs to turn to muslce....my friend had told me that that pushups are a great way to tone the chest but not build size...he told me to do a bench press instead of pushups now that the fat is gone.....but i noticed now that i am beginning to do about 200 push ups with sets of 20-25 than towards the end when i'm tired and struggling i do sets of 10-15...is this fine to help build up the chest.....cuz i know a lot of ppl have told me puhsups are very very good.

Fat doesn't turn into muscle. Higher reps do not burn fat. To build size use a rep scheme of 8-12 with moderate volume.

Yes, bodyweight exercises can only go so far, especially if you are doing 200 reps. Hit the weights in the 8-12 reps and you will see much better results.
