Volleyball and Basketball Training

Can someone suggest how I should train for volleyball and basketball? I can't do weights because I don't have them at home and I don't have access to the gym because I'm too young. All the equipment I have is a treadmill, a skipping rope, and my bike. I want to focus on training for volleyball now because volleyball season is around October to December at my high school. Basketball in sometime in the spring, I think. I want to be better especially in volleyball so I'll make the team since the volleyball team has tryouts. :D

Put on a backpack with all your books in it and do calf raises. Basically, just stand on your tip toes and go down and up. Maybe 4 sets of 20? Building your calfs can help you jump higher.

And jumping higher is not a bad thing to be able to do in basketball and volleyball.

But if my bag's heavy, then will that stunt my growth or give me back injuries?
Thanks for replying, by the way. :)

I say jump squats, suicides, and other full out body weight explosion exercises would do you great.

Yeah, what Mreik said. I think you should at least work on some burpees, push ups, 1 legged squats, inverted rows, and reverse hypers. Ask your parents if they will get you some sandbags. You can put these in your bookbag and work on some weighted exercise this way. And maybe your parents would get you a couple of dbs so you can do some db swings.

Then pick up some plyometric work like frog jumps, low platform depth jumps.

Check out some of Kelly Bagget's stuff

hehe, umm....what are burpees? and reverse hypers?

Go to the trainforstrength site that I linked in my last reply and he has a video of burpees. You could also google burpees and burpee videos and get plenty of info on them.

Reverse hypers you can do lying on your bed or kitchen table. Lie face down on the surface. Your legs should dangle off. Now, lift your legs up until you are completely parallel ot the ground and hold for a second. Good lower back movement.
