Spare tire

ok so im pretty happy with what i have achieved i havent lost to much weight but i dropped my body fat percentage from 30% to 20% over the last 7 months but i need help on this spare tire issue. are there any workouts that would help focus on this part of my body lifting or cardio... or would it just be wight loss in general

first of all, great job so far, keep it up! &

u should continue doing what your doing right now, but you might have to change your diet again, DEFINITELY need to eat more calories, since you have more lean muscle mass now, every lb of lean muscle mass burns 50 calories.

& continue eating good food and no cheating.
and about targeting ur spare tire, *are you referring to your abdominal area?* if so, theres no miracle route to achieving a lean toned abdominal except continuing a full body workout mixed with intensive cardio. Diet is of course most important like i said before, you have more muscle now, you need to eat more as you lost the 10% of fat.

HIIT , high intensity interval training type cardio will help you burn even more fat, 2-3 times a week, up to 15-20 minutes. 30 seconds sprint, 45sec-1 minute walk/jog

Try the HIIT cardio, it works wonders. Another good way to help with that spare tire is to strengthen the core muscles. Deadlifts can help a lot with back fat, your ab routine should be intense. Add weight to many ab exercises. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn.

I'm sorry but working a muscle in the area where you have more fat, will not reduce it in that area. Exercises help reduce overall bodyfat percentages. you cant spot reduce fat. You are just going to build muscle behind the fat

That's not spot reduction. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn, so what you are saying is muscle doesn't burn fat?

lol , he's probably mistakened...

3500 calories = 1 lb of fat

yes FFX, more muscle u have, more calories burned, thus burning fat in the process.

you statement was "deadlifts can help a lot with back fat" which leads me to beleive that you were implying that doing a certain exercise that focuses on the back, will help reduce fat in that area.

I appologize if this is not what were saying, it just appeared that way to me

that is why i wrote "can help" not "will help", I have trained many many people, and when it comes to weight training helping with body fat reduction, deadlifts are best because it uses over 90% of the muscles in your body. Just trying to help someone with a question they had.

it all comes down to "doing work" lol, thats the main reason people weight train, to get toned as well as burn calories, every set that you do you burn least 28 or so calories. Deadlifts is indeed a great routine for a full body workout plan. But of course, diet is the main concern here. Weight training only serves as an "activity" to burn calories :] but of course to build muscle mass as 1 lb of lean muscle mass burns 50 calories.
